Yep. I ran across the exact same thing when testing the xC6 upgrade from
xC4. I had to archive the primary and reestablish replication on the
secondary and RSS servers.

Normal upgrades between patch versions have worked for me in the past like
you expected. xC6 contains new features so there are changes to partition
headers and SQL components.

Hi,
I am trying to upgrade from IDS V11.50FC4 to IDS V11.50FC6.
We currently have Replication running(HDR).
We have a primary, secondary and RSS running.
I followed the recommended steps but this did not work on the secondary and
RSS.
Here is what i did:
Installed new version of informix on all 3 servers.
This was done in a seperate INFORMIXDIR.
Shut down informix on all 3 servers.
Reset environment so it was pointing to FC6.
Started the primary, which started ok, but what was of interest is that it
showed.. Quiescent (PRIM) and Single-User (PRIM) whilst conversion went on.
Once complete it only showed ON-LINE, note it did not show (PRIM).

When i tried to start the secondary and RSS, this is what i got, has anyone
else had this problem:

more information.
