Hi Brian,

In addition it'd be worthwhile seeing if anything else is using shared memory. Again ipcs should help you here.

During the flurry of activity at startup it may be that Informix and something else are both attempting to allocate memory and depending on who gets in first will determine whether you get the error or not.
