Your Version should be able to handle 32GB, but:

I surfed the web a bit on this subject, and it seems the typical M$ way:

Marketing: "We support n TeraBytes of RAM...",
Tech support: "... but there are several caveats. Like Graphic cards
needing still space below 4GB to support legacy 32bit world..."

Some User Forums FAQ lists showed up with similar problems to get
continous memory, and presented several registry parameters but nothing
I would try without further research. One other item there were apps
consuming all available memory over the time and so eating up memory.
One usual suspect was SQL Server running without a fixed memory limit
(can be set on each running SQL Server instance if I remember right).

I personally would now consult the Tech Ref books for Windows 2008
servers, but I have non here, sorry.

I have a system running Informix 11.50FC8 on Windows 2008 64 bit with 10
gig
of memory.

When I start the instance it complains that it cannot allocate a
contiguous
block of memory, I have buffers set to 1 million, so the first 3.2 gig
of
the buffers is in resident, the rest is put in the virtual memory.

I am using the SHMBASE that is in the onconfig.std and in the machine
notes.

Is there any Windows 2008 parameter that controls the amount of a single

memory segment size?
