Connection manager resilience

I'm trying to set up a group of Connection Managers.

On the Connection Manager server sqlhosts looks like this:

and the CM config file:

CLUSTER idsmach1db_app

SLA idsmach1_oltp_loc DBSERVERS=primary
FOC ORDER=SDS TIMEOUT=2 RETRY=1
}

... and that works fine.

But the second I change the config file to refer to the Connection Manager group, rather than one of its members:

SLA idsmach1_oltp DBSERVERS=primary

I get:
22:19:15 Warning: Cannot start listener idsmach1_oltp, network error -25557

Why can I not set the SLA to look at the group, not the entries?

Looking at this: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21584668, it seems that perhaps you *can't* refer to a group in the CM config file, which if true is quite counter-intuitive.
