Informix was the technical winner but Oracle won the market share and sales war.
They used FUD to effectively win sales, new vendor, product applications, internet applications and startups, promisinyyrythe world delivered late and 1/2 the world.
Oracle traded short term product revenue for long-term Total revenue (sales plus support).
