I'd rather assume this old 7.31 server has no more room in root chunk to=20
expand reserved pages required for storing the additional chunk=20
descriptor.

-> use 'oncheck -pe' to verify this assumption - no or only little=20
(contiguous) free space in root chunk
-> try and free some space in root chunk, e.g. by unloading and dropping a =

table residing there

Once the chunk could be added, you might recreate and reload the dropped=20
table and it would find other space in rootdbs.

Hi,=20

i tried to add new chunk to database but it's failed with error. chunk=20
size is=20
2GB and this dbspace has 55 chunks exist.=20

OS version: AIX 5.3=20
informix version: IDS 7.31=20

in disk level and VG level has enough space.=20

error:=20
$ onspaces -a regdbs -p /dblinks/dbsreg59 -o 0 -s 2096128=20
Verifying physical disk space, please wait ...=20
Cannot add a new chunk to the DBspace.=20
ISAM error: no free disk space=20

what would be the case for this issue ? any one has idea about this.=20
