Re: Backup/Restore Primary/HDR

In Response To: Re: Backup/Restore Primary/HDR (Andreas Legner)

Hi,

Thank You. Yes I am familiar with the doc you mentioned. Yes we do the
imported/redirected restore all the time leveraging the INFXBSA_CLIENT env
variable.

From my testing it seems the issue here is related to the primary server
name being "tst" and the HDR (new primary) server being called "stg". When
onbar backs up the logs it uses the name of the server to mark the backup
image (first field in the ixbar file see snippet below).

ixbar file snippet:
stg 51 L 0 60 0 1 1468532854 2016-07-14 17:47:48
stg 52 L 0 61 0 1 1468532903 2016-07-14 17:48:37
tst 53 L 0 62 0 1 1468597115 2016-07-15 11:38:49
tst 54 L 0 63 0 1 1468597148 2016-07-15 11:39:17

So the restore starts good and restores all the logs from the "stg"
server. However, onbar stops with the following error once it tries to
restore the logs from the "tst" server. I discovered after the log restore
fails I can trick onbar and delete all the "stg" entries and restart the
log restore, though I am hoping there is a more elegant way to achieve
this. Is there perhaps a config setting or env variable to set to force
this entry in the ixbar file regardless of which server actually does the
backup? Or other solution?

netbackup error:
09:38:28 (8357970.xxx) /stg/2/53 -s 07/15/2016 11:38:35 -e 07/15/2016
