Alert - Severe defect in SAP BW with Informix

I send this to sapmix AND ids forum, as I don't know how many
Informix SAP DB Admins still monitor sapmix list.
(non SAP-BW users please disregard)

SAP has released a new hot news today - note 922544

The note corrects a coding defect in SAP BW which is specific for
the Informix SAP BW port. The defect may cause major corruption in
info cubes. Please be aware of the hotnews and get the correction
for this defect from SAp Marketplace.

Symptom

This note applies only to BW systems that have INFORMIX as the database.

Cubes or aggregates are inconsistent after you delete master data.

Reason and Prerequisites

All dimension tables that contain this InfoObject are cleaned up after

you delete master data. This cleanup, which deletes all dimension

entries that are no longer used in the cube from the respective

dimension table, is incorrect. For aggregated InfoCubes and aggregates,

the system incorrectly deletes too many entries from the respective

dimension table. Therefore, the affected InfoCubes and aggregates are

inconsistent.

Solution

The following BW Support Packages contain the error:

BW 3.0B Support Package 28

BW 3.1C Support Package 22

BW 3.50 Support Package 14

If you have already called the master data deletion or the function for

entries that are not used in the dimensions of a cube in troubleshooting

in Transaction RSRV since you imported one of the Support Packages

mentioned above, you must check the consistency of all affected and

aggregated InfoCubes and aggregates. In Transaction RSRV, call the

consistency test for fact and dimension tables of an InfoCubes for all

cubes to be checked.

You can no longer repair an inconsistent InfoCube. The only option is to

reconstruct the InfoCube.

If you cannot reconstruct one or more inconsistent InfoCubes, you must

restore a backup of the database, which ensures that the database does

not contain any inconsistent cubes.

You can also reconstruct inconsistent aggregates provided that the

respective BasicCube does not contain any errors.

If you have imported one of these Support Packages, you must implement

the attached advance correction immediately. The error is corrected as

of the following Support Packages:

BW 3.0B Support Package 31

BW 3.1C Support Package 25

BW 3.50 Support Package 17
