Re: Migrating Informix-4GL (compiler & RDS) on AIX

In Response To: Migrating Informix-4GL (compiler & RDS) on AIX 5.3 (Daniel Dansereau)

Migrating the existing I4GL code to the new version should be trivial
unless you've written C code that is tied specifically to the old AIX
platform that doesn't migrate to the new Linux platform. It isn't
impossible to do that; it is a little unlikely.

Similarly, migrating the server should be straight-forward. You'll likely
use DB-Export and DB-Import to transfer the data unless you want to set
up ER or something similar to do the transfer. AFAICR, though, there was
only version 10.00 (the next was 11.10), and there isn't yet a 12.20 (the
current release is 12.10).
