Donald,
you didn't mention the ixbar.1 file. When doing a cold restore,
Informix has no system catalogs to look at, it looks at ixbar.1

We are running on AIX and IDS Version 7.3.1. We ran a DR test today,
where
we restored the software from the morning of Jan. 22, 2003, when
completed,
using the ism_catalog command, we added in the volumes from the back up
done
the night of the 22nd. When we issues the mount command on the 1st tape,
it
noted that it was part of the catalog and mounted with no issue. When we
tried to restore using onbar -r -w it read the tape and then requested
the
tape from the 21st.

Any suggestions on how we would get ism to accept a tape created after
the
last software back up? Our normal process it to restore the software and
the
back up from the same time frame. In this case we wanted to test what
would
occur if they were different. We used the 21st to complete our test.

Thanks

Donald H. Cutting
