Reconfigure all the hardware to work with IDS 9.4

Hi to all,

A happy, healthy and successfull 2009 first!

In my company we have Informix 9.4 FC6 on BULL machines PL...and OS is AIX
5.3

We are thinking of changing the machines to new machine from BULL like:

Escala PL6460R (first choice)

Escala PL6450R

Escala PL3260R

Escala PL1660R

What I would like to know is if,

Informix 9.4.FC6 is supported on this kind of machines?

The major goal of this change is to have faster OLTP.

Despite the fact of moving to newer and faster machines what else do we have
to keep in mind to achieve faster OLTP?

Disk Configuration .....? (RAID 5, RAID 10...)

Memory ........? ( used for IDS - what is the maximum it can be
recognized from IDS)

And so on

I would like your suggestions on this to build a very powerful, reliable and
fast environment for OLTP and batch processing as well.

Keep though in mind that we have to buy the machines from BULL
