Sending you a diagnostic utility called ntauth that simulates the authorization calls. Let us know what it says.

1) Reboot: did not change anything...
2) starts %informixserver% -iy opens a command prompt, nothing shows up and
it closes.
3) changed service configuration to Local System User and restarted service
via GUI: nothing.
4) starts %informixserver% -iy opens a command prompt, nothing shows up and
it closes (same as #2).

I get the same group and privilege results, so not that...

Have you tried rebooting just in case the service control task hasn't
refreshed credentials? (this shouldn't be necesary)

Does the service start if you change it to log on as the local system user?
(if the service has never successfully started you would need to start it
with
-iy for the first time, e.g. starts %informixserver% -iy)

Hi Jean Georges,

If you type "whoami /all" from that prompt, does it say you are a member of
the Informix-Admin group?

If the answer is no, logoff and log back in again to refresh your token
information.

If the answer is yes, can you paste the "PRIVILEGES INFORMATION" here.

Hi,

I have some problems with my windows installation.

The installation went fine.

I installed all correctly. the service is set to be automatic startup.
nothing happens.

if I start a command prompt as Informix, I get:
Only members of IXDBSA group (Informix-Admin, by default) can start IBM
Informix Dynamic Server.

Of course, both me and the Informix user are part of the group.
