RE: HDR exception error

In Response To: RE: HDR exception error (Mohamed Marwan)

We are very familiar with "oncheck -cI or -cDI ..." command (often do
before executing "onmode -d index ..." to send the corrupted index to the
secondary database.
But the contents of this af file is not for oncheck -cI because it is
somehow related to a previous error in whcih "DBchunk 32 is offline". And I
believe this DBchunk offline is the accumulative result of so many
"inconsistencies" errors (that involves the oncheck -cI or -CDI) before.
I just don't know the cause.
Now we have decided to "re-boot" the DR ciste from time to time to reduce
this problem. We'll just re-booted yesterday and it seems OK (clean) so
far. Only one af file is created (also referred to the same big file's
index corruption on the DR site). Maybe the network transfer facilty is not
good enough to handle the transfer of this big file (IT is alode noted that
we don't encounter data corruption for this file but only one of its
indexes is corrupted somehow after the transfer to the DR side).

Sure, you may check the action mentioned in the online.log file, I guess
it will be to apply oncheck -cI ..... command.

HI Mohamed,
Can you please elaborate a bit more on this?.
I have checked with the Unix admin. and he told me the medium at the DR
site has been no problem so far.

Hi,
I think that there is a problem in the physical media of the replication

pair machine.

Subject: HDR exception error [8079]

Hi all,
We have just (for the 1st time) encountered an error which brought down
the
secondary
database and stopped HDR connection (IDS 10.00.FC4W3):
10:51:51 Assert Failed: No Exception Handler
10:51:51 Who: Session(1, informix@drminetdata, 0, 1504be940)

Thread(35, dr_secrcv, 150489a60, 1)

File: mtex.c Line: 435
10:51:51 Results: Exception Caught. Type: MT_EX_OS, Context: mem
10:51:51 Action: Please notify IBM Informix Technical Support.
10:51:51 Stack for thread: 35 dr_secrcv
10:51:55 invoke_alarm(): mt_exec failed, status 256, errno 0
10:51:55 PANIC: Attempting to bring system down.
.......... The database was offline after then....

Has anybody ever come across this HDR problem?
